Position Description

Pain Management mid-level provider (NP or PA, full-time)

Position overview: HRRMC is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our busy Pain Management clinic, which specializes in interventional pain procedures and medication management. This is an APP-led practice, supported by an experienced interventional pain physician. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, detail-oriented provider who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about improving the quality of life for patients suffering from acute and chronic pain. Experience in pain management is preferred but not required—we are willing to train a motivated candidate with the desire to grow in this specialty.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including histories, physical exams, and review of diagnostic studies.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing interventional procedures, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Monitor and manage patients on controlled substances, in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with the interventional pain physician on procedures and complex cases.
  • Educate patients and families about treatment options, pain management goals and safe medication use.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.
  • Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree in Nursing (FNP) or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted NP or PA license in the state of Colorado.
  • Experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or primary care is preferred, but not required.
  • New graduates with strong clinical training and a strong interest in pain medicine are encouraged to apply.

  • Ability to manage a patient panel, including complex chronic pain cases
