Contact Senator Cory Gardner and Urge Him to Vote Against the Republican "Better Care Reconciliation Act"
The Senate is planning on voting on this disastrous bill next week. it decreases coverage and increases costs instead of expanding quality and affordable health care, while giving the top one percent of the population a massive tax cut. Additionally, it gives states the option to drop the Essential Health Benefits laid out in President Obama's Affordable Care Act including prescription drug coverage, pregnancy/newborn/pediatric care, contraception, mental health and substance abuse services, and preventative care. Proposed cuts in Medicaid will result in millions losing access to care and harm the most vulnerable among us including the elderly and disabled..
In the Denver post on Thursday 6.22.17, Republican Cory Gardner said he wasn’t sure whether he would vote for it, and he suggested that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, the Senate’s top Republican, consider abandoning his goal of holding a vote next week on the legislation.
At least four other Republican Senators have announced they will not support the act.
Colorado Democratic Senator Michael Bennett has vowed to oppose and is calling for a full debate and open process in reforming healthcare.
Please contact Senator Gardner and encourage him to do the right thing for our patients, loved ones, and ourselves:
